Cookies Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, or page views) so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back.
A “cookie” in this policy also covers similar technologies like pixels, local storage, or device fingerprints.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
-
Make the site work – load pages, protect forms, balance traffic.
-
Measure performance – see which pages people view and improve content.
-
Remember choices – store your cookie preferences so we don’t nag you again.
We do not use cookies to serve personalised ads or to track you across other websites.
3. Types of cookies we set
Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for security and basic functionality. They cannot be switched off. Example:
Cloudflare “__cf_bm” – protects the site from malicious traffic (expires after 30 minutes).
Analytics (optional)
We use Google Analytics 4 with IP-anonymisation turned on. These cookies collect aggregated, anonymous statistics so we know which pages are popular. They only load if you click “Accept all cookies” on the banner. Example:
“_ga” – distinguishes visitors (expires after 14 months).
Your banner choice (Accept / Reject) is stored in a tiny cookie called “cookie_consent” so we remember your preference for 12 months.
4. Managing your preferences
-
Banner controls – Click “Cookie settings” in our footer at any time to revisit the banner and change your choice.
-
Browser controls – Most browsers let you delete or block cookies entirely. See the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break the site.
-
Google Analytics opt-out – For GA specifically, you can also install Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. Updates to this policy
We review our cookie list regularly. Any material change will be noted here and reflected in the banner scan. Please check back occasionally to stay informed.
